Encouraged by his grandmother, Romanian 16 year old Narcis Iustin Ianau impressed thousands of television  viewers when he sang on "Romania's Got Talent ." With no formal training and a natural, counter tenor voice, Narcis has always enjoyed singing, dreamed of performing on stage and representing Romania, his country. With little musical education and from a poor family, raised by his father and grandmother while his mother works in Italy, Narcis started singing in church when he was five years old. He has had a tough time at school as other  children did not understand the quality of his voice.

For the TV show, he tried several pieces and chose Puccini's aria "O mio bambino caro" from an opera CD borrowed from a friend. He repeated it a lot and tried to imitate the soprano; with stellar success.
