Son of American Colonel Nelson Monfort Senior, Nelson Monfort is a television host and sports journalist on France Television.

A graduate of the Institut d'études Politiques de Paris Nelson also appreciates classical music and is a highly informed and appreciative listener.

TV commentator for figure skating he makes intelligent and notable interviews of athletes just after their competition: among his most famous interviews are those of Andre Agassi, Martina  Navratilova, Carl Lewis, Bill Clinton at Roland Garros in 2001 and sprinter Michael Johnson during the Olympic Games in Atlanta.
